Shopping Center Industry To Present Retail Green Conference

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) is once again (for the second year) having its RetailGreen Conference.  The Conference will take place on October 14-16 in Hollywood, California.

The agenda is set and will feature very interesting topics and speakers (including me!!).  On the first day, attendees will hear from the COO of Regency Centers and the lead engineers from WalGreens on Sustainability efforts, Brad Davis (former CMO of SunPower) on solar initiatives, representatives of Macerich, Edens & Avant, Coldwater Creek and Regency Centers on Green Leasing and tenant issues.  In addition, Jeff Bedell from Macerich will be leading a panel on On-Site Generation while Target, Macerich and Westfield will discuss Green Building retrofits.

On the second day, the conference will feature a panel on sustainable recycling and construction waste practices, a discussion of government entitlements and incentives and retail initiatives relating to green.  The conference will also feature an intimate "Meet the Experts" opportunity as well as roundtable discussions with a closing discussion by Andrew Winston on Green Recovery.

While all of this ongoing at the conference, there will also be site visits available to area shopping centers (Pavilions by Safeway and Santa Monica Place) to see, first hand, the sustainable practices being implemented.

I hope to see you there!!
